During the Soviet period, children with mental disabilities were considered as the flaws of society and were isolated in closed institutions.

Unfortunately today, 26 years after the independence of Armenia, even if the State has begun to take measures to gradually close the orphanages  and boarding schools, some problems still remain unsolved.

In August 2010 a group of young Swiss traveled to Armenia to participate in summer camp organized by the foundation ''Miassine'' and at the same time to participate in a school construction.

The stages of the project:
-  Renovation of the library and outdoor benches
-  Purchase and hardware installation.
-  Training and exchange with young Swiss

This room became a place where the children can not only play but also read stories, watch cartoons, listen to  music.
